Lighttpd Web Server and Chip Multithreading Technology

Am I the only one who wonders why people have such an obsession with lighttpd over nginx? I must say that MANY times now I have had to recommend AGAINST lighttpd due to its security history of late. At least in my testing, nginx has come out far and away the better solution both performance and security wise.
